Why feeling unappreciated can be disastrous for your family life
in fact, at any age, becoming aware that you aren’t appreciated can lead to very serious emotional issues impacting your closest and most cherished relationships
It’s pretty much universal that we have, at some point in our life, experienced what it’s like to feel unwanted or unappreciated.
Even if it was a fleeting and temporary experience, it’s likely you can vividly recall how you felt.
That sense of feeling worthless or suddenly worth less than you thought you were worth, will be raw and sensitive.
It can be inflicted consciously and subconsciously, but either way, the emotional pain is often acute.
And given that we all personally experience just how debilitating a sense of low worth can feel, it’s surprising that we can still be guilty of inflicting the pain, even to those we love most dearly.
A friend of mine is an NLP practitioner and I raised the issue with him recently because I thought one of the really awful outcomes of mass redundancies and sackings was that men will react violently to the realization that they are no longer appreciated or needed.
